He grew up in Dorchester, Massachusetts and received nomination to West Point from Speaker of the House McCormick in 1963.
Fought in Vietnam, Special Forces, called to active duty to serve in Panama and Haiti. His last assignment was Deputy Joint Combatant Commander of U. S. Southern Command. During the time he was at Southern Command he was the most senior "hispanic" General in the U. S. Army.
Additionally, based on his high level corporate executive positions in international business he has been published in Who's Who in American Business at least 4 times.
