The question you tried to answer by creating this forum is far to be resolved.

I ask one simple thing. Who is American? I ask this, simply because there are no Americans in the world. Do not forget your own history. And please do not disrespect other ancient countries. Please be advised that the Portuguese and the Spanish people from Europe are completely different from each other and from the so called Hispanic people in Latin America. So, I really don't have to say much. Please, take some time to visit the home land of Portugal in Europe, I know that most of Portuguese-Americans have never been there.

I challenge you to visit Portugal, Spain and even Brazil and please stop fighting over this small subject. You will see the difference for your own eyes. And one other thing, is common for people to judge others for the color, be aware, in other countries that is called racism and is a human-rights violation. Please do not try to change others, Portuguese have their identity, why do you think you have our traditions right at your door step? Spanish also will never loose their identity. And explain to me, how with 200 million language speakers all over the world the Portuguese are not a huge culture and tradition spreaders? Please try to understand that as long as we are proud of our roots, the Portuguese language will be Portuguese.

In Portugal we speak Portuguese, we have one of the most developed languages in the world. Simply compare lyrics from US songs and Portuguese ones. I rest my case. Let's not even talk about the right and wrong, atomic bombs, destruction and so on. We have pacifist roots, and the terrorist menace is quite difficult to have in Portugal, because the terrorists would think twice and would stop for a coffee with us.

The greatest example of harmony, was the Euro 2004, you did see the union between each and every team and supporters. Let's stop this discussion at once. People have been fighting for interests for centuries. That's why this isn't even a question. Should Americans be considered Canadians? Ah, I really want to see what is your answer to this, because for someone you might look the same.
